All I Need is a Miracle
Sh-boom Plays Benefit
The purest expression of joy in this world is the smile on the face of a child, and there is no greater reward than to know that you had something to do with putting that smile there. This is how the members of Sh-boom felt after raising over $15,000 in 1998 for the Children's Miracle Network of Greater St. Louis (CMN).
This year's "Night of Miracles" benefit dinner/dance is Saturday, March 20th at 7:00 p.m. in the Marriott Pavilion Hotel in downtown St. Louis. One ticket price includes dinner, beer, wine, soda and Sh-boom! Tickets are $40 per person while corporate sponsorships are $500 per table. Another highlight is a Silent Auction featuring prizes like vacation getaways and autograqhed sports memorabilia.
Sh-boom is donating the entertainment, and all money raised benefits Cardinal Glennon and St. Louis Children's Hospitals. To order tickets, call the CMN office at (314)434-6880.
The Show Must Go On
Sh-boom Welcomes a New Voice
Most bands change personnel as frequently as they change their guitar strings. Sh-boom has been the exception, featuring the same line-up for the last 10 years of the group's 15-year history. So when veteran vocalist Rick Johnson recently left the group, Sh-boom began an extensive talent search for a suitable replacement.
The search ended in September as Sh-boom welcomed St. Charles, Missouri resident, Lamar Pilsing into the band. As atenor vocalist, Lamar has performed with the University of Missouri-St. Louis Madrigal Singers, whose credits include a performance at Westminster Cathedral in London. Lamar can also be heard on radio and TV jingles for Six Flags and the President Casino.
Get out to see Sh-boom and welcome "La Man Lamar" to the band.
