CALIFORNIA DREAMIN'
Drummer Mike moves to West Coast

After 18 years as Sh-Boom's drummer, Mike Watermann has moved to Santa Rosa, California. Mike is now Music Director and afternoon DJ with oldies radio, KMGG (97.7 FM). Mike, also a well-known radio personality in St. Louis, joined Sh-Boom in 1984.

Mike's last show was in June at Jefferson Barracks Park. The concert, with several thousand in attendance, included many long time Sh-Boom fans and former band mates. Sh-Boom presented "Mighty Mike" with several parting gifts and "retired" his jersey. Mike's vast contributions to Sh-Boom included compiling the nightly song lists for 18 years, as well as producing the many pre-recorded "drop-ins" used during each show. Listen for Mike's voice at upcoming shows, as he will continue to introduce fan favorites such as Sonny & Cher and Ike & Tina via recording.

Before leaving, Mike said, "The most difficult part of moving is saying goodbye to the musicians, friends and family of Sh-Boom. I have never had more fun than in the past 18 years! I will cherish the memories and wait for the Sh-Boom Reunion Tour." Sh-Boom wishes Mike and his family our best in this exciting new phase of their lives.

WHO PUT THE BOMP?
Sh-Boom Announces New Drummer

Over the summer, the band welcomed Dennis Roussin to the Sh-Boom family. A veteran of the St. Louis music scene, Dennis beat out some very tough competition to become Sh-Boom's first new drummer in 18 years. Dennis has already demonstrated that his abilities and dedication will be a tremendous asset to Sh-Boom. Dennis remarked, "I have some very large shoes to fill." (While this is true, former drummer, Mighty Mike actually has rather small feet!).

The next time you come out to hear Sh-Boom, be sure to say hi to "Hit Man" Roussin and help make Dennis feel welcome.

SH-BITS AND SH-BLUNDERS
Sh-Boom Gossip and Gab

Sh-Boom didn't realize how many friends and faithful followers were the same age until they all recently turned 50. Doug Baker, Pete & Judy Colombo, and Sergeant Steve Junk, to name a few, flipped the half-century mark. Sh-Boom would like to recognize each of them as they celebrate their 50th birthdays. Unfortunately, these people no longer seem to recognize each other!

We just realized that all the members of Sh-Boom, their families, and every single person on the mailing list also celebrated birthdays this past year - what irony!

Sh-Boom was honored to perform at Pete & Judy Colombo's son's wedding reception near Jefferson City, MO. Pete is Sh-Boom's long time Stage Manager. His son Mike, hosts a syndicated radio show called "Americana Live". Mike and new wife Rose work for KOMU in Columbia, MO.

The band enjoyed some much appreciated R&R this past month taking extensive vacations. Scott spent a week in Toronto, Ben traveled to the Dominican Republic, Dave to Florida, Brad to Lake Tahoe, and Rob to Seattle. Tom and Dennis vacationed in Festus/Crystal City, while Mike traveled all the way to Santa Rosa, California - AND NEVER CAME BACK!
