SUMMER IN THE CITY
Outdoor concert and festivals

It's Sh-Boom's favorite time of the year as the band looks forward to their
18th summer of outdoor events. The price is always right! So bring the lawn
chairs, the kids, and for goodness sakes, bring the band something cold to
drink! Here's a sample of what's comin' up...

There are no May Poles, but Perryville Missouri's Mayfest is where Sh-Boom
kicks off this year's outdoor fun on May 13th. This concert and festival is
free and is held on the town square. Perryville is one hour south of St.
Louie, Louie, on I-55. Music starts at 7:30 p.m.

If you savor food, plan to "Savor Crestwood" at Whitecliff Park on June 3rd.
Daytime fun includes free access to the city pool, and civil war displays.
At 6:00 p.m. Sh-Boom performs a free concert while you sample foods from
area restaurants. Whitecliff Park is next to Grant's Farm in the Affton
area.

Free music, free food, and free drink (notice the pattern?)! Sh-Boom treks
north to near the airport on June 9th  to "Home Heights Park. The price is
right as the City of St. John foots the entire bill for you and the family.
Home Heights Park is just down the street from the world famous,
Chuck-A-Burger. Music begins at 7:00 p.m.

Sh-Boom's annual gig at St. Elizabeth Parish and School in Granite City, IL
is on June 11th. The Sunday merriment includes a free Sh-Boom concert at
6:00 p.m., carnival rides, great cuisine, and crafts.

One of St. Louis' largest outdoor venues hosts Sh-Boom at 8:00 p.m. on June
17th. This yearly event in Jefferson Barracks Park in south St. Loius County
attracts several thousand rock 'n' roll oldies fans. It's just  $5.00 for
adults and free for ages 15 and under.  You can bring a cooler...but
concessions are cheap!

For more information about these events, check out the Sh-Boom Calendar at

CATCH A FALLING STAR
How can Sh-Boom afford them?

Look out Sonny and Cher!  Sh-Boom adds more Stars to their traveling
entourage of stellar acts.  Buddy Holly, James Brown (The Godfather of
Soul), and Sly & the  Family Stone have signed on to make frequent guest
appearances with the band. Several other great artists are currently under
contract negotiations and are expected to join the show this summer.

SH-BITS AND SH-BLUNDERS
Sh-Boom Gossip and Gab

Basso Buffundo, Bad Brad hit 40 in March.  Sh-Boom honored their friend and
leader with a surprise party at the Crystal Ballroom in Staunton, Illinois.
Brad was escorted, via wheelchair, around the dance floor as he was
serenaded to the strains of "Sixteen Candles" with revised lyrics.

Tommy Gunn, guitarist extraordinaire, turns 40 in April. Tom hopes to
celebrate his birthday by selling a house in Missouri!

Former Big Red Linemen, Bob Rowe and Ron Yankowski, KEZK Newsman, Jim Cox,
and K-HITS Radio Program Director, Mike Watermann, were spotted, hanging
with the band, at January's Casa Loma gig.

In March, Sh-Boom hosted the 3rd annual "Night of Miracles".  The event
raised $25,000 to benefit the Children's Miracle Network of Greater St.
Louis.  This event has raised approximately $64,000 for
CMN over the past three years.

Nothing particularly interesting or humorous happened to Ben Jamin' again
this quarter.

Sh-Boom appears at Branson's Chateau-on-the-Lake
in May. There really is a place
called "Chateau" in Branson, Missouri. I wonder if the Baldknobbers have
played there?

Radio's Rik Anthony spotlights Sh-Boom on his nationally syndicated All Star
Radio Network
show. The show is syndicated on over
40 stations in the U.S. The 15 minute piece features an interview with band
members and album cuts.

Vocalist, 'Lectric Lamar and better-half Amy provided the biggest news of
the quarter. Congratulations to the Pilsings as they are expecting their
second child this Fall. Only Amy and Lamar know whether this news is best
categorized as a Sh-Bit or a Sh-Blunder.

BRICK HOUSE! (3 bedroom/2 bath)
Tommy Gunn Now Sells Real Estate in MO

Like his fellow band members, Sh-Boom guitarist Tommy "Gunn" Gerke, has
found that making music is destined to be more of a hobby than an
occupation. Tom's "real job" is selling real estate. While Sh-Boom fans have
observed Tom putting real estate deals together during band breaks, Sh-Boom
encourages Tom to turn his cell phone off DURING performances!

After four years of successfully selling real estate in Illinois, Tom now
has his Missouri license. Friends and family in the St. Louis area have been
encouraging Tom to expand into the St. Louis market. Tom says, "Many of them
had difficulty finding a realtor they could trust when it came time to buy
or sell their home". Tom is a St. Louis native, born in the city and raised
in the county.

Call Tom at Gundaker Realtors Better Homes and Gardens in Chesterfield, MO
at (314)878-3738 or via cell phone at (314)504-0131. In Illinois, contact
Tom at Landmark Realty, Bethalto, IL at (618)377-2112.
